The new electric Renault Twingo E-Tech promises to be a game-changer in the automotive market! According to Renault CEO Luca de Meo, the brand is focused on the model’s efficiency and competitiveness, with a consumption of 10 kWh every 100 km, one of the best in its category.
The vehicle’s development was accelerated thanks to a partnership with Ampere China, allowing for a simplified design and a significant reduction in the number of parts, enabling a price below $20,996 without subsidies. Renault is also betting on reusing existing components, increasing the reuse rate to 80% and reducing production costs.
The new Twingo, scheduled for 2026, will be a compact urban electric car with a design inspired by the original 1992 model, but adapted to modern demands. The vehicle will feature practical solutions, such as a modular interior with sliding and foldable seats, along with innovative details like magnetic headrests to support phones or tablets.
The car will also retain a glass roof for natural lighting and feature a minimalist cockpit, following the concept of functionality and sustainability.
The model will be developed in record time, with a process reduced to just 21 months from conception to production, a strategy aimed at keeping pace with Chinese automakers.
The design of the Twingo Mk4 reinforces its retro identity with minimalist graphic elements and exclusive typography for its logo. The launch is confirmed for 2026, but there is still uncertainty regarding the availability of a right-hand-drive version.
